The Department of Statistics was established in the year 1980. The Department of Statistics – Acharya Nagarjuna University established with the objective of promoting research and higher learning in the discipline of Statistics has completed 30 years of its existence on the university campus as on April 2010 .All its faculty members are in the cadre of Professors.

Eligibility :

1. M. Sc. Statistics (General:25) : B.A. / B.Sc. with Mathematics and Statistics as two of the three Subjects.
2. M.Sc. Statistics (QR & OR: 20 self finance) : B.A. / B.Sc. with Mathematics and Statistics as two of the three subjects (or) B. Tech. in any branch.

Local Candidates : 85% of the available seats in each category in every course of study are reserved in favour of the local candidates from the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam.
Number of Seats : Total : 45( Regular:25 and Self Finance : 20)
Entrance Exam Syllabus and Patteren : sThe 100 questions are spread over three parts, viz., A,B & C. No Negative Marks.
Part A: contains 40 questions(40 marks: Descriptive Statistics and Probability Distributions)
Part B: contains 30 questions (30 marks : Statistical Methods and Inference) and
Part C: contains 30 questions (20 marks:Applied Statistics).
ANUCET will be conducted at the following Test Centres :

4. VISAKHAPATNAM
5. HYDERABAD
The Fee concession in respect of S.C. / S.T. / B.C. / EBC will be followed as per the G.O’s in vogue.
